Everything you might want to know about Loop CheckOut, whether you're shopping or running the shop.
Loop CheckOut is a digital receipt app for Hong Kong. When you pay at a participating shop, your itemised receipt lands on your phone in real time. No paper slip, no receipt in your email inbox, nothing to lose at the bottom of a bag.
Three steps:
- Open the app and show your personal Loop barcode at the counter.
- The cashier scans it, which takes under a second.
- Your itemised receipt appears in the app straight away.
No. You never need to register or log in while a queue waits behind you. Just show your code and go. You do create an account once when you first set up the app, so your receipt history follows you across devices.
Loop CheckOut is free for consumers. There is no premium tier, no subscription, and no charge for storing or exporting your own receipts.
Loop CheckOut launches first on iPhone, via the App Store. An Android version is on the roadmap. If you'd like a nudge when it lands, drop us a line.
Any Hong Kong merchant running Loop CheckOut at the counter. We're onboarding independent cafés, restaurants and retailers now, and the list grows every week. If your favourite shop isn't on it yet, tell them about us, or send us their name and we'll reach out.
Yes. Every Loop receipt is fully itemised, with each line item, price, payment method, date and merchant recorded, so it carries the same detail as the paper slip it replaces. Individual merchants set their own returns policies, so it's worth checking theirs, but the receipt itself holds up.
Yes. Search by merchant, item, amount or date, and filter by category or time range. The app also shows spending insights: this month versus last, weekly charts, and your top merchants and categories.
Ask the cashier before they close the sale and they can still scan you. If the sale is already finished, the merchant can issue it as a guest receipt, which you open from a link or an on-screen code. Guest receipts aren't tied to your account, so they won't appear in your history.
Your barcode displays without a connection, so the cashier can always scan it. The receipt itself syncs to your phone as soon as either device is back online, so a basement shop or a dead spot only delays it, it doesn't lose it.
You do. Your receipts are stored securely in Asia and governed by Hong Kong's Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance. A merchant only ever sees the transactions from their own shop, and we never sell or share your data with advertisers. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.
Receipts stay in your account for as long as you keep it, so you can go back years for a warranty claim. You can delete your account at any time, which removes your personal receipt history. For a data access or deletion request, email privacy@loopcheckout.com.
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and you can lock the app behind Face ID or your device passcode so your history stays private even if someone else picks up your phone.
A tablet with the Loop CheckOut merchant app. There is no setup fee. Load your catalog, and you can issue your first digital receipt the same day.
Either. Loop CheckOut is a full point of sale in its own right, with a sell screen, catalog, receipts and loyalty, so smaller shops often use it as their till outright.
If you already have a POS you're happy with, you can keep it and connect Loop through our API, or forward receipts by email from almost any system. Tell us what you run and we'll confirm the best route.
Yes. The API integration connects Loop CheckOut to the till you already run, so sales ring up once on your existing system and the digital receipt and loyalty stamps follow automatically. No extra tablet at the counter, and no double entry.
The integration is included from the Growth plan upward. Tell us which POS you run and we'll confirm the connection.
Customers who have the app get their receipt instantly in it. Everyone else can be issued a guest receipt, which they open from a link or an on-screen code with nothing to install. Guest receipts are included on every plan, including the free one.
You keep selling. Offline mode is included on every plan, including Starter. Sales are recorded locally and sync, with receipts delivered, once you're back online.
Starter is free, and it isn't a trial. It covers the sell screen, receipts, catalog, guest receipts, offline mode and one loyalty stamp program.
Paid plans start at HK$267 per month on annual billing: Growth adds inventory, offers and the QR code display, Pro adds membership points, customer profiles, advanced reports and marketing campaigns, and Priority adds location-aware targeting and instant campaign delivery. Annual billing is 50% off the monthly rate. Full breakdown on the pricing page.
Not on ordinary sales. Only two things carry a commission, and only when a sale actually completes:
- Offers — a flat 1% of the sale when a consumer redeems an offer you sent to the marketplace.
- Marketing campaigns — a Pro and Priority feature, charged on a sliding scale that starts at 9% and steps down to 5% as your redeemed volume grows through the year, resetting each January.
Loyalty stamps and membership points are free to redeem, and sends that don't convert cost you nothing. The full campaign scale is on the pricing page.
Yes, though annual and monthly work differently. There's no lock-in contract and no setup fee. On monthly billing you can upgrade, downgrade or cancel at any time.
Annual plans are charged upfront at the discounted rate, and that payment covers the full twelve months. You can cancel at any time and keep access until the term ends, but the remaining months are not refunded — the annual rate is priced for the whole term. Upgrading is the exception: if you move up a plan partway through, the unused part of your current term is refunded and a new twelve-month term is charged from that date.
A small customer-facing screen at your counter that shows a code for the sale you've just rung up, so a customer without the app can grab their receipt without you handing over anything. It's included on Growth and above, and optional on Starter.
The hardware is provided on a subscription basis and remains our property, so it goes back to us if you cancel.
One stamp program on Starter and Growth, and unlimited on Pro and Priority. Offers, which work alongside stamps, start on Growth, and membership points start on Pro.
Every plan includes receipt history and transaction data with daily and monthly stats. Pro and Priority add customer profiles, a Day Summary, and advanced reports with exports for your accountant.
Your transaction data is yours and you can export it. Consumer receipt data is governed by Hong Kong's PDPO, and you only ever see activity from your own shop, never another merchant's. We don't sell customer data to advertisers. See the Privacy Policy and Terms.
Send us a merchant enquiry or email merchants@loopcheckout.com. Tell us what you sell and what you're running at the counter today, and we'll get you set up.
